• While Jock Goodyer won the final round of the SRA Open Sprintcar Series at Warrnambool’s Sungold Stadium last night it was a triumphant occasion for Bobby Daly who secured the series crown after a great series. Goodyer would reign supreme in the A-main and win ahead of Jamie Veal and Tate Frost in third.

In what was a massive event for the SRA and Premier Speedway, round 5 of the C&H Trucking Pro Sprintcar Series was also on the same program and Steven Loader won his maiden feature ahead of Andy Hibbert and the always consistent Dennis Jones.

Veal would launch to the early lead after his win the in Gold Shootout earlier in the night while Goodyer and Brock Hallett quickly assumed the chase for Veal’s lead. Kaidon Brown was impressively running with the likes of the leading trio while Brett Milburn, Daniel Pestka, Ashley Cook and Bobby Daly were all in the chasing pack.

An early caution for Jamie Heyen bunched the field before the race resumed and made its way into heavy traffic before Goodyer pounced on Veal and would never look back despite a number of late race restarts.

One of those included Brock Hallett who suffered a left rear tire exploding with only 5 laps remaining as he was running strongly in third.

Another stoppage was for a turn 1 incident involving Grant Stansfield that also eliminated Terry Rankin while Jordy Rae and also Peter Doukas did not resume at the restart.

Goodyer would go on to record a popular win ahead of Veal while Frost was third despite brushing the wall numerous times while Daniel Pestka rallied late to cross the line fourth ahead of the impressive Kaidon Brown.

Following Brown was Milburn, Jack Lee, Matthew Reed, Ashley Cook and Marcus Green who has enjoyed a strong series.

Outside of the top 10 was eventual series champion Bobby Daly, Tim Hutchins and David Aldersley.

Earlier Marcus Green impressively won the B-main ahead of Stansfield, Milburn, Rankin, Heyen and Tim Hutchins who would all transfer to the A-main.
Earlier heat race wins went the way of Bobby Daly, Jordyn Charge and Brock Hallett.

Group qualifying saw Kaidon Brown, Jock Goodyer and Brock Hallett all record the quickest times.

Despite heavy traffic Stephen Loader never put a foot wrong to defeat a very strong field of Pro Sprintcars in the C&H Trucking Series round to impressively outrun Andy Hibbert and Dennis Jones who would finish on the podium.

Home in fourth was Luke Cole racing to the line ahead of Adam Greenwood who transferred out of the B-main! Harry Ross was sixth ahead of Shane Steenholdt, Tim Van Ginneken, Matthew Symons and Sam Wren.

Outside the top 10 was James Wren, Phil Micallef, Jack Van Bremen and Thomas McDonald.

Scott Enderl was running strongly in third before a cut down tire ended his run while Daniel Storer and Michael McDonald also finished infield.

An opening lap crash would also eliminate Joe Lostitch, Mark Noonan and Travis Millar.

The B-main transferees were Travis Millar, Shane Steenholdt, Tim Van Ginneken, Adam Greenwood, Sam Wren and James Wren.

Heat race wins were picked up by Dennis Jones, Jack Van Bremen, Harry Ross, Andy Hibbert, Matthew Symons and Daniel Storer.
