The Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria returns to Wangaratta Speedway for their annual visit with the SRA Open Sprintcar Series. Each time the Sprintcar Series runs at Wangaratta speedway the Main event has been worth the price of admission by itself and with the drivers listed for Saturday night events it is looking to be very competitive once again.

Bobby Daly who lead the Series till the last round at Premier Speedway where a mechanical issue put him out of the race should be able to recapture the Series points lead once again with form is in and should be one of the main contenders for a race win.

Terry Rankin was looking the goods for the feature win at Wangaratta last season but came a little short and had to settle for second place, Terry will be out to go that one place better this time around and has all the right ingredience to get the job done.

One driver that is a big threat to both Daly and Rankin is Albury’s hard charger Grant Anderson, Grant is one of the fastest drivers around and after his venture here last season that saw Grant take third place, Grant and his team should be a big chance to add another feature race win to his resume.

Now the New South Wales posse has six drivers entered for the event lead by Sam Walsh, Sam is always in the mix wherever he races. There is no shortage of talent from this group of drivers, Zac Pacchiarotta and Brendan Scorgie have raced in Victoria of the past few seasons and are very fast and competitive.

Cody Elliot, Warren Ferguson and Michael Braggs are the other New South Wales competitors who will take up the challenge to the Victorians.

Some of the other drivers Representing Victoria is past sedan champion Mark Carlin, Marcus Green, Series regular David Dennison and David Aldersley. One driver who is out of action due to a shoulder injury and is normally Aldersley’s on track sparring partner is Eddie Lumbar, when this pair race in America Aldersley is Lumbars Crew chief, now the tables are turned maybe Eddie can help David to be up the front of the field!!

Parker Scott makes the trip over from South Australia, Park is a rookie this season in the sprintcar ranks and has put in some very strong performance with only four meeting under his belt. With another new track for him he will gain more experience and confidence on the night and might surprise a few people with his talent.

Saturday night the 2nd of December at Wangaratta Speedway will be the place to be for a top night of racing and Sprintcar action.

Wangaratta Speedway is located of Shanley Street Wangaratta, gates open at 1PM, racing commences at 4PM with the Sprintcars on track at approximately 5PM.
