• Dustin Higgs has made a triumphant return to SSA Super Sedan racing in Western Australia with a classy drive to claim the fifteen lap main event at the Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway on Saturday Night.

The fifth round of the WA Super Sedan Summer Series was the main support act for the Bunbury stop of World Series Sprintcars.

A big crowd was on hand for the event with Craig Gilbert nearly rolling during the opening heat before his car burst into flames. Gilbert was able to extract himself from his machine with the fire personnel putting out the fire in a quick fashion.

In the main event Dustin Higgs lead the early laps before Western Australian Champion Chris Pavlovich's Sweet Chassis suspension collapsed on lap six with Kemble Aylett and Gary Higgs coming together after trying to avoid the slowing Pavlovich.

Gary Higgs and Aylett were able to restart with only minor cosmetic damage.

Dustin Higgs lead the field at the restart as Kevin Bell tried in vein to catch Higgs.

Gary Higgs worked his way into third by the end of race after having to start further back in the field after enduring fuel issues earlier in the evening.

It was an emotional win for Dustin Higgs who was a guest driver in the Adrian Geary owned Sweet Chassis.

The Sixth Round of the WA Super Sedan Summer Series is set to headline next Saturday Nights race meeting at the Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway.
