The 45th running of the Super Sedan Grand Prix will be held this Friday and Saturday night, at the Gulf Western and Independent Oils Raceway, with Gary Higgs from Western Australia looking to make a big impression.

Higgs, who has based himself out of Queensland for the start of the Summer Season, has had strong results, and will be looking to continue the trend on Friday night at the Latrobe venue, which will suit his driving style.

Have been racing in Queensland for the past two months, Higgs has raced against most of the interstate drivers heading to the Apple Isle, including Matt Pascoe who has practically been unstoppable this season, along with Sean Black, Darren Kane, Matt Williams and Leigh Williams.

Higgs will compete across both this weekend at Latrobe and next week in Hobart for the Grand National, along with the midweek event at Carrick.

“We will base ourselves out of Devonport for the week, before moving to Carrick. We did plenty of work on the car after the last event in Queensland, so we will give it a quick once over once it gets off the boat, and get ready for a big couple of weeks”, Higgs said.

The fortnight racing in Tasmania will also give Higgs a great guide to how he is going against the opposition, with one eye on the upcoming National Title at Mt Gambier.

Racing on Friday night will commence at 6.30pm EDST.
