• With Christmas 2019 now only hours away, the Board, Management and Members of Premier Speedway would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas as we get set to welcome American Tim Shaffer back to the Classic as a part of what is looming as a star studded line up.

    The 2010 Knoxville Nationals Champion is a welcome addition to Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool for the 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic after yet another strong American season in 2019.

    Shaffer joins Sydney dynamo Sammy Walsh and World Series Sprintcar Contracted Driver Jason Pryde as the last of the pre-Christmas entries.

    Hailing originally from Aliquippa in Pennsylvania, Shaffer, 52, has been around the sport of Sprintcar Racing for many years and is a four time All Star Circuit of Champions, Championship winner.

    The Steel City Outlaw is also a two-time winner of the Don Martin Silver Cup, contested annually at Lernerville Speedway, while aside from his Knoxville Nationals win in 2010, the biggest pay day of Shaffer’s career came in 2018 at the Mansfield Sprint Car World Championship where he collected a cool $100,000 in prizemoney.

    In 2019 Shaffer recorded two World of Outlaws A Main wins, the first which cam at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’in February 2019, while the second was on the Opening Night of the Summer Nationals at Williams Grove.

    These wins were a part of an Outlaws season that netted Shaffer two wins, from seven top 5 finishes and 12 top 10’s.

    For his return to the Classic, Shaffer will pilot the professionally turned out Keller Racing S19 Cool Chassis which will have a Maxwill Race Engine for company.

    The Team will be looking for a strong result for Shaffer and the Team’s Partners Bunyip Print, Fatchen, James Rosenberg Racing, ROSS Contractors, McDonald’s Warrnambool East 24-7 and Spitwater.

    Sammy Walsh, having made the Classic final in 2019 is one of the genuine Australian chances come the Australia Day long weekend in Warrnambool.

    The potent N92 Rocket Industries, Fleck Earthmoving and Aeroflow Performance Products backed entry is another that will command attention form race fans and on track rivals alike.

    With strong Sydney based form under his belt in 2019, Walsh will be keen to lock into the show again.

    The final pre-Christmas entry is Jason Pryde.

    Pryde is an ever-popular entrant, and again for the 2020 Classic weekend he will campaign his W14 Cool Chassis with some Kistler horsepower under the hood.

    Jason and his dedicated and hardworking team will be supported by Industor, Miniquip, Suncity Plumbing, Tasman Power and AMPT Services.

    The 2020 48th edition of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar

    Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, GJ Gardner Homes, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.

    Copies of the 2020 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2019 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
