Matt Pascoe has won the 50 lap main event at the Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway on Saturday night, outlasting Wayne Randall in a tremendous feature race, as part of the Brims Concrete Super Sedan Series, supported by AFCO Shock Doctor.

As has been customary in the series, the qualifying heats were hotly contested with four separate winners from as many heats, with Mark OBrien narrowly winning the opening heat, while Tania Smith also won a close finish in heat two. Sean Black held off Darren Kane to win another close finish in heat three, with Wayne Randall winning the final qualifier.

Wayne Randall would be the highest qualifier from Matty Pascoe, Sean Black, Darren Kane, Gavin Northfield, Justin Randall, Mark OBrien and Ian Brims, however after the marble draw, the final grid would see Wayne Randall and Matt Pascoe remain on the front row, Ian Brims and Darren Kane on the second row, with Sean Black and Gavin Northfield on the third row, with Justin Randall and Mark OBrien drawing the worst two marbles to start from the fourth row.

Randall went immediately to the lead while Ian Brims and Sean Black moved to second and third. Darren Kane would be an early retiree with a battery issue moving Justin Randall to fifth behind Pascoe.

Positions remained unchanged until lap twelve in a great spectacle, when Pascoe moved to third at the expense of Black, with Brims soon to feel the pressure from Pascoe, who passed Brims on lap nineteen.

Pascoe then started the challenge for the lead with Randall, in what turned out to be a brilliant battle. The pair would make their way through the lapped traffic which in the concluding stages advantaged Pascoe who took the lead with less than ten laps remaining, holding on for a great win.

Behind second placed Wayne Randall, Sean Black would finish a distant third of Ian Brims and Justin Randall, the only five to complete all fifty laps, with Tania Smith completing the top six, one lap down.
Drivers will now set themselves for the National Title at Moama in less than a fortnights time.
