• This weekend at Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool the prestigious Victorian Sprintcar Title will go on the line on an action-packed program that also includes the Formula 500 Jack Willsher Cup as presented by Go Traffic.

Adding a little spice to the field of entries is the inclusion of both Mathew and Marcus Dumesny, with both coming off contrasting results at Sydney Speedway last weekend.

Mathew was able to claim the A-main win from a competitive field, while Marcus’ night came to an abrupt halt having inverted the usually pristine N47 car on the opening lap of his opening heat race.

With a Victorian Title field now nearing 50 entries and the Jack Willsher Cup field also in the mid to high 30’s there is not better place to be this coming Saturday night than at Premier Speedway.

With anticipation high leading into the second meeting of the season at Premier Speedway, the second round of the Parr Motorsports Sprintcar Track Premiership will also begin to take shape.

Come January however is when the Track Premiership gets its biggest shake up with the three nights of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic always mixing things up a little.

With that in mind both Jake Smith and Ben Atkinson are the two latest drivers to throw their hats into the ring when it comes to trying to claim the $30,000 pay day that awaits one lucky driver at the completion of the 40 lap Classic finale.

Smith became proficient at making transfers during the 2018 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar when he came from Friday’s B-Main to eventually finishing 15th in the Preliminary A-Main before finding himself in Sunday’s C-Main 1, from which he progressed to record an 18th place finish in B-Main 1.

Come January 2019, the Allansford based driver will be looking to reward his hardworking team and sponsors, Mepunga Grains, Goodyear Warrnambool, Dairytech Nutrition and Chris Smith Concreting with a strong result aboard his KRE powered Triple X.

Ben Atkinson, with who we associate an amazing David v Goliath performance at the 2006 Classic, will return, no doubt with the bitter taste of a disappointing 2018 Classic still lingering.

The pilot of the Aeroflow Performance Products, System Homes and Craft Differentials 2D entry will be out to improve on his 10th place in the C-Main last year which was a direct result of a tough qualifying night that saw him record a lowly 6th place finish in his qualifying night C-Main.

With plenty of talent, it would not surprise to see Ben Atkinson return to the pointy end of what looks like being a very open Classic field come the weekend of January 18-20, 2019.

The 2019 47th edition of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, GJ Gardner Homes, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.

Copies of the 2019 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2018 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
