• Random Panda Racing turned out to Drouin Speedway on Sunday May 20th with their latest guest driver to have an opportunity in the ‘Black Panda’ Jamie Angus finishing the day with a fine third place podium finish, the first for the Random Panda Racing team.

Angus a regular Division 2 Hot Rod competitor and popular member of the Speedway family was promised two heats on Sunday and walked away with three heat’s and a final under his belt and a great appreciation for the Unlimited Sedan class.

Angus finished heat one in third place behind Alan Stockdale and Mick Evans the eventual winners for the day, before finishing in fifth in heat two and again third in heat three and enjoyed personal battles with Daniel Angus (no blood relation).

The car ran perfectly all day with the only maintenance required was opening the overflow up a little after heat two.

In the twelve lap final, Stockdale and Evans had a clear advantage on everybody else, however Angus kept the number 25 Random Panda Photography supported car well ahead of the rest of the field for a comfortable third place result.

After the day Angus spoke to media and shared how he felt about the day in the Unlimited Sedan. “It was as good as eating jalapeo’s mate, if you know me you know how much I love them, I loved the opportunity and had so much fun, the car was great to drive and I thank Random Panda Racing so very much for the chance to drive.”

Angus loves his Division 2 Hot Rods and does not have a bad word to say about them however he went on to say “I can see myself racing one of these one day, I love the concept of Unlimiteds, the car handling and the power. These cars hold onto the track so well and give you great confidence going sideways around the turns. Originally I planned on following the field all day, however I felt balanced straight away and knew I could race it without damaging the car.”

Car owner Craig Mitchell also enjoyed watching Angus in the team car through the day. “Jamie really impressed me, he was having a go and he was clearly the third best on the day with Stockdale and Evans ahead of him, he carried great corner speed and car control was spot on. He will always be the first driver to score a trophy for the Random Panda Racing team cabinet, a story to tell later in life.”
