The 2018 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic may still be the best part of four months away, but it hasn’t stopped the first entrant from signaling his intentions at this very early stage.

Victorian Peter Doukas, who hails from Mailors Flat, which is located just to the north of Warrnambool is the first driver to officially enter the Classic, which again looks like attracting a huge field of drivers from right around Australia and the USA!

Doukas has steadily improved with each and every outing in the Warrnambool Locksmith’s, Giblin Family Homes, Lane Transport, AKC Kitchens, HEC’s Screens and Services and P.T.S backed V98 machine.

Having contested the 2016 Classic where he mustered a 9th place finish in C-Main 2, Doukas was able to improve his performance in 2017 to finish in 14th in B-Main 2. No doubt 2018 will see he and his team eyeing of a coveted A-Main starting spot come January 21.

The Classic will again act as a qualifying event for the Speed Sport News Challenge which will be held during the Knoxville Nationals next August and with strong opening day ticket sales, race fans are urged to pre-book tickets by visiting www.premierspeedway.com.au.

“The Grandstand is sold out and the Terrace Area proved popular during our opening day of ticket sales yesterday”, Premier Speedway General Manager David Mills said.

“With large quantities of General Admission tickets available, those that are looking for a reserved seat for the three nights of the Classic should hop on-line and get their seats now, because if yesterday is anything to go by, the reserved seating mightn’t last long”, he added.

“We expect that General Admission tickets will still be available for purchase on race day, it is just the reserved sections that will be gone”, Mills concluded.

The 2018 46th edition of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.
