Toowoomba's GW Racing is celebrating the start of the new sprintcar season this weekend with three major new backers and an exciting new-look Q5
winged-racecar.

Australia's newest bulk fuel supplier MEGA Fuels, Kawana Signs and Team Navy have joined the team's long term supporters in 2017/18.

Car owners Wendy and Graham Erhart believe their tremendous support underscores the Withcott-based outfit's serious commitment to perform at the highest level this season.

"Peter Lack and Q5 were runners-up in last year's Queensland State Championship and we're determined to go one better in 2017/18, " Wendy Erhart said .

"The support from MEGA Fuels, Kawana and Team Navy is a terrific vote of confidence in our race programme and the great bunch of people - many of whom have worked with us for the past 20 years , " Graham Erhart said .

MEGA's Motorsport Manager, Terry Knight says the fledgling fuel company is excited about the prospect of adding sprintcars to its already impressive stable of Supercar and Motocross teams .

"GW Racing has impressed us with its performances and its professionalism, " Knight said.

" We can't think of a better vehicle to deliver brand awareness of our new business as quickly and effectively as a championship-contending sprintcar, " he said.


The deal with MEGA Fuels as naming rights sponsor also means a slick new look for the race car and transporter - a remarkably eye-catching transformation created by another new sponsor Kawana Signs.

says while it's the company's first foray into sprintcars, it is no stranger to high-performance motorsport in the dirt.


"We already back a Brisbane-based Kawasaki motorcross team and we think now the time is right to partner with one of the standout teams in speedway racing," Moroney said.


"We're delighted how well the new team colours and livery have come up and we're confident Q5 will be one of the flashest, if not the fastest sprintcars in South East Queensland this season."

GW Racing has also struck a strategic alliance with the Royal Australian Navy through its programme that works with high performance sporting teams and individuals to promote and enhance Navy brand recognition - particularly in regional Australia .

"The Erharts and their race team are committed to the same organisational goals as us, according to Team Navy Brand and Marketing Manager , Lieutenant Commander Don Hogarth RANR.

"Each week they are testing themselves and their technologically-advanced equipment and tactics against the very best in a no-holds barred contest , LCDR Hogarth said .

Peter Lack, Q5 and GW Racing begin their 2017/18 campaign this Saturday night in the season-opener at Archerfield Speedway.


After all the hard work over the past few months, the racing can't come soon enough for Wendy and Graham Erhart.

"I've been actively involved in speedway for 41 years as a car owner, driver and crew chief and if anything I'm getting a bigger adrenaline kick out going racing now than ever, " Graham Erhart said.
