• For the 20th time in Enzed World Series Sprintcars history the chequered flag fell on an A-Main event at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway and it was Mount Gambier’s Steven Lines who greeted it first on Friday night during round 8 of the 2015/16 series. After ending the night as the highest points scorer courtesy of two heat wins Lines actually fell back to fourth in the Gold Shootout but after trailing early race leader Luke Dillon Lines made the decisive move in turn three as he made a clinical outside pass.

“I was fairly confident tonight but it was tough out there, the track had a few holes and the lapped traffic was really thick. Congratulations to Luke and James and thanks to Murray Bridge for having us back for a second round. We knew if we just kept digging the results would come. Now we will head to Western Australia and look for another win or two” added Steve following his win.

Second across the line was Luke Dillon who earlier set his 17 career Fast Time during time trials. Third place went to James McFadden with Jamie Veal, who confirmed that he will now contest the remainder of the series, being elevated to fourth after Dave Murcott was put back two spots for passing before the cone on the final restart.

Therefore American Randy Hannagan recorded yet another strong result with a top five ahead of Murcott, Brooke Tatnell and Jordyn Brazier.

The feature race proved to be a busy affair with lapped traffic playing its part along with several incidents to a number of big names.

It all began on lap two when Kyle Hirst and Brad Keller made contact in turn two with Keller riding out a heavy crash. Lap 10 saw the demise of Matt Egel as the power steering gave up on the bright orange #97 while Egel was running fourth. Lap 20 saw yet another roll over as the front end collapsed on Daniel Pestka’s J&J and as he was attempting to get off the track he was collected by Mark Caruso who ended up on his lid.

Earlier in the night local favourite Ryan Jones completely destroyed his race car after contact with James McFadden.

Along with Lines the heat winners were Pestka, Brendan Guerin, Brendan Quinn and Brazier while Mark Caruso was a convincing winner of the B-Main. Jamie Veal won the Gold Shootout.
