The Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers All Star Series is very pleased to announce they have locked in an additional round and venue for their schedule for the oncoming season.
Wahgunyah Speedway will host RD 6 on December 26th. Wahgunyah is on the Victorian side of the Murray River opposite Corowa. The Track has been running since 1952 in conjunction with Corowa Rutherglen Motorsports Club Inc. and has predominantly been a sedan track but has branched out this year. With recent upgrades to the facility the Committee have worked hard over the past few seasons to enable open wheel divisions to compete at the venue. Track is 580 meters on the pole line with a clay top and wide open turns.
“I am very excited about locking Wahgunyah in and having another new track on board is fantastic. This enables us to have 11 rounds for the Series and also hold our first double header event running at Nyora on December 27th. It is an easy 3 hour drive from Melbourne to Wahgunyah up the Hume Hwy to Wangaratta and then turn towards the Murray River. The road is brilliant and an easy drive.” Promoter Mandy Searle tells us.
“We met with committee members Trevor Mills and Brett Balins the other weekend and they have completed serious work at the venue and credit to them for their efforts. It is a pretty little venue similar to Sonic Speedway, Swan Hill or Rosedale Speedway and within a 3 hour radius of Melbourne. Our teams love being able to compete at new venues and we love the opportunity to showcase ourselves to a completely new crowd base. Hopefully we will get the hooked on Sprintcars and follow us elsewhere along the Murray River. The All Star team and I are excited about this new addition to our Calendar.” Searle says.
