• The DMA Technical Committee sat for the annual review of Specifications at the recent 2015 AGM held at Tweed Heads.
Peter Cox (WA), Troy Scott (Vic) David Clark (QLD) and Rob McNamara (NSW) were joined by Chassis manufacturer representatives Kevin Britten (Troyer) Andrew and Rowan Shilleto (Teo) with Clark also representing the Bicknell brand.

The members dedicated long hours in filtering through the Specifications booklet and identifying anomalies with the intent of providing a more accurate and user friendly document for competitors.
Clark indicated the new edition of the booklet will be available to members Mid-August, in the meantime drivers can catch up with the latest by attending their next State Association round of meetings Australia Wide.

McNamara advised members, full containment seats are mandatory in season 2015-2016, this is following a phase in period over the past 2 seasons. “This is purely for driver safety, but a good secure seating position also provides for improved driver performance.” offered McNamara. “We also advise side outlets for exhaust will be discontinued as well as ‘over the axle’ mounted exhaust pipes”.
Victoria’s Troy Scott advises a weight sticker will be made available by DMA for drivers to attach to their engine bonnet in the coming season. This is to avoid any misunderstanding of minimum weight regulations when being scaled by Techs at major events around the country.

Racecars will be identified as either a minimum 980kg or 1065kg.
Any further inquiries should be addressed to your State Technical Officer.

Brisbane’s Jane Britten stood down from her role as Chair of the DMA Technical Committee. Jane has led the department for the past 3 years and wrapped up by recognizing the dedication of the Technical Team. Jane wished her successor well. An appointment will be made within the ensuing fortnight.
