• This long weekend will see two rounds of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series conducted at Simpson Speedway Simpson, round nine and Premier Speedway Warrnambool round ten with both A Main events paying $5000 to win and strong fields nominated for both rounds. While the new Series points leader Jamie Veal will resume the battle for top spot with Brett Milburn and Daniel Pestka in the Series and the handsome prize money on offer they will have some strong competition joining him this weekend.

Two past Eureka Garages and Sheds Series champions, John Vogels and Darren Mollenoyux have nominated and are no strangers to being on the podium and must go into these rounds of the Series as real contenders for the feature wins on both nights. Simpson is John Vogels home track and he will have the support of the locals to cheer him on in search of a win on home soil. On the other hand Darren Mollenoyux has enjoyed great success at Premier Speedway in the Sprintcar ranks and has also taken out the National F500 title there as well, Darren knows what will be needed to take glory at Premier Speedway. Shaun Dobson the current Eureka Garages and Sheds Series Champion will also be in the field at both venues this weekend, he is sure to add a little more spice to this weekend’s Series rounds.

Daniel Pestka will be hoping for a little luck after mechanical issues hampered his efforts last weekend at Heartland Raceway. Daniel was a big mover at the previous round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series at Premier Speedway to come from position fourteen to take out third place and he should be on the pace once again at both rounds and will be looking for a win and to close the gap back to current Series points leader Jamie Veal who is only one hundred and eight points ahead of him in the standings.

Brett Milburn has been the quite achiever so far in the Series, although Brett hasn’t had the results he would like he has been able to secure valuable points to be sitting in second place in the Eureka Series. Brett knows his way around the Simpson venue, a couple of seasons back Brett was leading the Eureka Series round there when a broken torsion bar stop put him out of the race. While he will have a fight on his hands to win the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series he knows the value of finishing in the top ten where he has won two KTM Motorcycles from KTM Australia that boosted his end of Series funds quite significantly.

With most of the drivers in the top twenty entered there is sure to be plenty of good hard racing over the weekend, some of the other drivers booked in for the weekend are Tassie’s Tim Hutchins, Jamie Hennessy, Jye Okeeffe who continues to be very impressive in his rookie season, Brad Warren, Corey McCullagh another driver that is proving to be a driver of the future then some of the regular Series contender Ashley Scott, Adam King, Rod Matthew who will wanting a bit of luck to go his way after the previous round where his sprintcar received major damage.
Domain Ramsay returns to the Series as well after his recent stints in the Speedcar ranks along with Bendigo driver Darren Hickman who can be a major player on his night, Glen Sutherland is sitting in fourth place in the Series and has had some very impressive performance during the Series to keep him in touch with the Series leaders.

All in all two big nights of action are on the cards for this long weekend with over forty drivers nominated at each round and with so much at stakes before the final two rounds of the Series the regular Series drivers will be looking for the all important Eureka Garages and Sheds Series points to cement themselves into either of the KTM top Ten or the Essendon ford eleven to twenty to have a shot at the major awards at the end of the Series.
