With one round to go in the Smooth Suspension Super Series to be held at Hamilton’s Western Speedway on the 18th of January, the same night that the Victorian Junior Sedan Champion will be decided, Mount Gambier’s Anthony Beare is leading by a large amount & only McClure looks like a threat, however only if things go wrong for Beare during the night.

On top of the series where there is the prestige of winning the series and the bonus money on offer, drivers are also trying to win heat races and lock themselves into the All Star race after the main event at Hamilton to win the $1500- Koni – King Suspension/Shock Kit from Smooth Suspension.

So far eleven drivers have locked themselves in by winning heats with only 5 more spots available and a likely nine heats at Hamilton in which to win heats to qualify.

QUALIFIERS AFTER FOUR ROUNDS FOR THE SMOOTH SUSPENSION ALL STAR RACE AT HAMILTON
As mentioned drivers must have won a heat and compete in three of the 5 rounds given two were washed out or be given a promoters or sponsors wildcard.

16 will start locked in so far with the highest placed series driver after the Hamilton feature race starting at the back of the field ahead of the wildcards.

These drivers are LOCKED IN: Beare, McClure, Clark, Faux, Bull, Dann, Watts, R Bansemer, Henry, Atkinson & Wallace (who won a heat at Darlington before rain drowned us) with Beare & McClure starting no better than 11th and 10th as things stand at the moment.

Throckmorton, Ahearn & Giacometti are in good position to be offered a wildcard depending on who wins at Hamilton in the heat races, they need to win a heat to lock themselves in for certain whilst if that doesn’t happen they will be hoping all the heats are won by drivers who have already won heats.

Another driver in with a wildcard chance is Mark Gartner. Gartner’s problem is he has won a heat but only turned up to one round, if he turns up to Hamilton & Peadon, Paisley, Drewett, Ratten, Pottage, Dunn, Mason, Fallon & Ferguson don’t win heats he could sneak into the All Star race! Regardless he will be there to cheer on the Junior Gartner’s and to try and win the $1000 to win feature in the final round of the series.

No doubt about it the action through the heats at Hamilton will have fans glued to their seats as drivers try to make the most of their front of field starts and convert them into a heat race win & get into the All Star race and further up the series points table.
