As part of their overall naming rights sponsorship for the Smooth Suspension Super Series, Smooth Suspension also were offering round contingency prizes to the winners of the B Main events at each round.

Rain at the first two rounds meant prizes couldn’t be won & then a time constraint call by the chief steward at Swan Hill meant the B Main didn’t get run there either. Finally Wahgunyah didn’t have enough cars to put on a B Main at all.

As a result prizes will be awarded to the following competitors for the following reason.

Mark Gartner from Mount Gambier qualified in pole position at Sonic Speedway Swan Hill and due to a split fuel tank being discovered without enough time to complete a change over, Gartner failed to start the feature knocking himself out of any chance to win the $1200 on offer.

As a result for qualifying pole Smooth Suspension is happy to award him a $300- gift voucher for the show he did put on for fans through heat racing.

Mildura mates Scott Mason & Leigh Fallon travelled from Mildura to both rounds at Swan Hill & Wahgunyah & whilst their were other drivers who also didn’t have the success they were looking for, Smooth Suspension has decided that the other $300 gift voucher can be split by the two of them or they can make a deal amongst themselves as to who will get the voucher.

Scott was one of the first drivers to say he will do some rounds when the series got off the ground and he convinced Leigh to come with him to the Swan Hill & Wahgunyah weekend. Call this an encouragement award if you will, however both lads have some ability that running with top competition will be nurtured and seem them improve in the coming seasons.
