• The Belk Motor Racing / Highline Racing fun day at Fun City Entertainment Complex at Sunshine on Sunday the 19th of October was an absolute success for everybody involved from the race team to the management at the fantastic family fun facility & for those involved in bringing joy to all that came.

Fun City management, Belk Motor Racing, Highline Racewear combined all raised a healthy amount of cash for the McGrath Foundation cause that the race team is supporting. An amount of $2000- was raised, the venue was packed full of people with smiles all round all feeling good about the fun they were having and why they were having it.

Race cars were on display, drivers spoke with interested visitors, entertainment was provided, stalls set up & many future race drivers were born on the Kart track at the facility.

Comment from Fun City s owner Darren Shaw shared the sentiment of a successful day. "From us we are so proud that not only have our customers supported this cause that is close to our heart here at Fun City, we are so pleased that even our staff and suppliers have gone out of their way to donate wages, time products to help gain awareness of the McGrath Foundation. "

Shaw also shared a conversation he had with one of the performers who provided entertainment. "Felix the Magician tells me that he thinks organisations like ours raising awareness and funds for worthy causes is a great thing and he can't wait to be a part of future awareness fundraisers that we hold."

Customers of Fun City asked why the fundraiser and Fun City's response was this is for a good cause and will raise awareness and is simply something our business and Belk Motor Racing / Highline Racewear does to show our support to McGrath Foundation. Customers were shocked and impressed at the effort put in & encouraged us to keep up the great work.

Even Coke donated some product for free to help us on the day look after those that were donating to the cause.

Shane Belk the race driver at the centre of the campaign to raise awareness is ecstatic at the day's results. "I'm very pleased about the days efforts by everyone I can't thank everyone enough for all their donated time, money & gifts (for the raffles) that everyone donated for our first fund raiser for the year very happy and proud to be doing this for the McGrath Foundation."

Now whilst the fund raising continues, Belk looks forward to getting behind the wheel to go racing in just over three weeks at the first official race meeting of the season at Avalon Raceway, Geelong.
