The South Australian speedway season will officially kick off with a double header Opening Nights at Murray Bridge and Bordertown on the October long weekend. And as an added incentive a $500 bonus will be on offer for Formula 500’s, Wingless Sprints, Lightning Sprints, Super Sedans, Late Models, Street Stocks, AMCA Nationals and Speedcars if a driver makes a clean sweep and wins both feature events.



A minimum of eight cars is required at both tracks for the $500 to apply to any division.



Murray Machining & Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway begin the weekend on Saturday 4th October at 5pm with nine divisions on the card plus Sprintcar practice. The 35 event program will finish with the traditional car crushing Demolition Derby where a field of around twenty cars expected.



The following night will see the same nine divisions continue down the road to Bordertown for another 5pm start and another big 28 event program.



Murray Bridge Manager Tim McAvaney was pleased to be able to offer the $500 bonus.



“Thanks to Bordertown for joining us in offering the bonus to all the divisions running on the opening weekend (with the exception of Junior Sedans). The challenge now is for drivers to win both features at Murray Bridge and Bordertown and take home an extra $500 cash!”



“It’s our way of supporting every division, while also encouraging local and interstate drivers to commit to both events. While SA based cars are likely to provide the most nominations, we also expect a few Victorians to nominate who are looking for laps early in the season, particularly from the F500, Wingless, Street Stock and AMCA divisions.”
