• Spending his week competing in Texas with the World of Outlaws, Kerry Madsen had a very strong showing that was highlighted by his second World of Outlaw win of the season at the El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso, TX.

Tuesday night in El Paso, TX, Madsen’s night started out with him timing the Keneric Racing/American Racing No. 29 in 12th fastest in time trials, putting him on the front row of his heat, which he won.

Starting on the pole of the feature event by way of his Dash win, Madsen got the jump early, though he quickly felt pressure from Jason Sides.

Shaking what pressure he had, Madsen was nearly flawless as he ran the razor thin cushion lap, after lap. In the closing laps, Steve Kinser showed Madsen his nose wing on a few occasions, but Madsen was too good on this night, and went on to pick up the win.

Heading to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway for a weekend double header, Madsen kicked the Texas Outlaw Nationals Presented By American Racing off with the ninth fastest lap on Friday night, putting him on the front row of his heat.

With the lower side of the speedway the place to be all night Friday, Madsen lined up on the outside, and lost the drag race into turn one, and took the second spot, where he would finish, putting him in the sixth row of the feature.

The bottom was still the place to be in the feature event, and though he used it at times, Madsen did what he could on the high-side of the speedway and clawed his way up to a sixth place finish.

Saturday night closed out the three-night race week in Texas, and Madsen flexed his muscle early with the fourth fastest lap during time-trials.

Running third in his heat, and fourth in the Dash, Madsen lined up fourth for the 30 lap finale on a track that featured two great lines for a very exciting race.

Getting into the third spot initially, Madsen flew around the Devil’s Bowl Speedway and took the second spot, and began chasing after leader, Daryn Pittman.

As the laps clicked off, Madsen looked to get even better as he closed in on Pittman, until the yellow flew at the halfway point.

Back underway, Pittman was able to get away from Madsen, who now had his hands full with Joey Saldana as they battled for the second spot.

With Saldana finding the rubber being laid on the track first, he was able to get under Madsen, dropping Madsen to third where he would go on to finish.

“It was a very good week in Texas for our team,” Madsen said. “It was great to get the win to start it with, and to score a sixth and a third at a place we have never been to is really good.”
