  • After initially missing the nomination deadline Warrnambool’s Jamie Veal has officially entered the 2024 Locked Down Australian Sprintcar Championship taking the nomination list to 84.

    During the past three National Championships Veal has been one of the leading contenders for the Title having won the crown in 2020 at the Latrobe Speedway before finishing second in his Title defence at Archerfield in 2022. Last season his quest to recapture the #1 was on track with victory on Friday Night during the Preliminary Feature but an engine failure in his final heat on Saturday cost him valuable heat points ruining any chance he had of starting up front for the A-main.

    But with the 2024 Australian Championship in his own backyard, he will be out for redemption and currently he is the most recent open Sprintcar winner at the venue, having won the Grand Final of Speedweek.

    “It was a bit of a relief to finally get a win here this season. We haven’t been off the podium, and we now have a handy lead in the Track Championship. This car has been so consistent here all season so it’s a good sign for what’s to come” added Jamie following his Speedweek win.

    The 2024 Locked Down Australian Sprintcar Championship will be held at the Premier Speedway in Warrnambool on January 26 and 27, 2024.
