  • After 17 successful seasons running one of the most professional Sprintcar operations in this country, Barry Waldron has sold the NQ7 ECP Racing team.

    SRV Road Freight owner Errol Cosgrove has purchased the racing operation and will embark on a new era with the NQ7 Sprintcar team that will still include the formidable combo of driver Lachlan McHugh & crew chief Nick Speed.

    Waldron, who remains fully committed to his speedway venues and his streaming platform Clay-Per-View, thought the time was right for Cosgrove to take the Sprintcar team to new heights. Waldron’s many other business commitments haven’t allowed him to get away with the team as much as he would like.

    “From time I first saw Sprintcars at one the Outlaws Down Under shows at Parramatta, I had to have one and I’ve enjoyed every minute of the last 17 years running ECP Racing. We’ve won some races, had a lot of fun doing it and we couldn’t have done it without the support of so many great people along the way including all of our corporate partners”. Waldron stated.

    In terms of teams new configuration and the racing operation, Nick Speed will remains as the crew chief and team manager while Lachlan McHugh will remain as the teams number one driver. The team will still continue to travel the country picking up most of the major races but will now be for Errol Cosgrove as the NQ7 SRV Racing Team from next weekend at Ultimate Pink Night at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway.

    “I’m really looking forward to this exciting new chapter of my racing career with Errol. And I’m just so appreciative of everything that Barry has done for me and my racing career and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunities that I’ve been fortunate enough to receive because of Barry”. McHugh said.

    ECP Racing would sincerely like to thank all the sponsors and all the people that have contributed to the team’s success during the past 17 years. There’s way too many other people to list individually, but a lot of people have made a massive contribution to our racing program over the years that’s brought so many life long memories. Nick Speed has been with the team since day one and has done a tremendous job winning hundreds of races with Lockie McHugh and previously with Robbie Farr who’ve all been instrumental in the team’s success.
