• Brett Petrou & Heidi Lincoln have started off their recent entry into the Victorian AMCA Nationals ranks in the best way possible when they headed to Blue Ribbon Raceway Horsham for the 2014/15 season Victorian AMCA title, then drove away from the venue with the title in the bag after driver & former national champion, Mark Lincoln secured the prized number 1 plate for the team.

Three heats proceeded the all-important title race with Lincoln driving the # 92 car to wins in all three heats he competed in, starting with a seventh place start converted into the win for heat one, an outside pole converted into a win in the second and a eighth place start converted into a win in the third heat.

Through the heats Lincoln beat Tim Reidy who has been one of the bench mark drivers in recent years across Australia & Shane Newstead from New South Wales in all three heat races they contested.

With no changes made to the set up right through the three heats, the most the team needed to do was change some tyre pressures before the final began.

Starting from pole position with South Australian Danny Prade alongside & Reidy & Darren McCarthy the row behind & then New South Welshman Nick Stubbs in fifth Lincoln was quick to assume command of the race & led from the beginning to the end without being passed. Whilst the minor places shuffled a little with driver retirements & race passes.

Lincoln taking the Victorian title ahead of McCarthy & Queenslander Matt Hardy.

Heidi from Team Kouda had this to say about watching Mark take the spoils. “We are wrapt to have ‘Manners’ (Mark) driving our car. It was great to watch an outstanding driver with a winning history, claim his place at the end of the night as Victoria # 1 despite limited time in this particular car leading up to the event.”

After the long hours put into building the car Brett also had this to say. “Sometimes you wonder if you will ever finish building the car, everything important like work & family come first, however we got there in the end & it has all been worth it, a car Hooda (Heidi) and I own, is now Victoria # 1, ripper! We can’t thank Mark & all our supporters enough, we hope this pays off everybody for their contributions.”
