• After finishing as the runner-up in the 2024 Easter Sprintcar Trail on the weekend in the SP Racing #27 Strathalbyn racer Daniel Pestka will now set his sights on claiming his first Australian Pro Sprintcar Championship at the Avalon Raceway.

Although he is a regular open competitor Pestka is no stranger to 360ci / Pro Sprintcar racing having won several main events over the years, including the Tyson Perez Memorial, the SRA Gold Cup and the 2024 South Australian Pro Sprintcar Championship at the Borderline Speedway last month.

During last year’s Australian Pro Sprintcar Championship at the Murray Bridge Speedway Pestka secured a fifth placed result utilising an LS engine that he borrowed from Dennis Jones but this year he will revert back to the traditional 360ci powerplant.

“I cannot wait for the Australian Title at Avalon. The track has been pretty good to me over the years including a win there last weekend at the Easter Trail. Craig Carrison Race Engines has given us a good motor to use so I’m looking forward to heading back there after our recent success. We have had some great car speed in recent weeks so I hope that can continue” commented Daniel recently.

When asked about his chances Daniel was quick to mention to tough competition that he will be up against if he is to become the seventh South Australian winner of the Championship.

“It’s going to be really tough to win. With Jock (Goodyer), Jamie (Veal), Robbie (Farr), Jordyn (Charge), Mark (Caruso) and Milburn (Brett) just to name a few the field is full of fast drivers and good teams”

The 2024 Australian Pro Sprintcar Championship will be held between April 12 & 13 at the Avalon Raceway in Lara, Victoria. Dirt X Ind. will proudly present the 2024 Australian Pro Sprintcar Championship
