• DAYNE Kingshott delivered the Krikke Motorsport team their fourth 2023-24 season victory on last Saturday night at the Perth Motorplex, and it not only helped the team move closer to securing the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series but rewarded the whole team for their massive 24-hour effort following a crash the previous night.

After crashing in the feature race on Friday night’s Maddington Toyota Series round at Bunbury Speedway, which the team were able to hastily patch up the car during the delayed stoppage and they went on to restart and finish in seventh, the Krikke Motorsport team had
to build a fresh car for the following night’s round at the Perth Motorplex, and it saw them come away with the best possible result.

“Saturday night’s win was a very special occasion for the whole team, especially after the effort the team went to build up the spare car,” expressed the driver of the WA # 2 Mobil 1 / Bunbury Toyota supported Maxim, who was quick to thank the several rival teams for their help in repairing the car during the stoppage of Friday night’s feature race.

“The whole team was working on pretty much three hours sleep after Friday night to make it out for the next night, and I’m so grateful I was happy to keep up my end of the bargain and bring home the win – as it certainly made that long night worthwhile and at the same
time it moved us one step closer to wrapping up this season’s Maddington Toyota Series.”

The Krikke Motorsport team’s fourth win of the season came about on Saturday night, after Kingshott started on pole position by virtue of winning the A Dash, and then he was able to benefit from a vital front row starting position on a hooked up track and lead the entire 30-
lap distance and pick up his seventh 410 Sprintcar career feature-race victory.

“With Saturday night’s track being so fast, the key was qualifying towards the front for the feature race, and that’s what we managed to do, and it was one of the keys to the win,” Kingshott noted.

“Despite the track being fast, I still had to go out there and drive well, which was made easier due to my Krikke Motorsport team giving me a great car to get the job done.”

Krikke Motorsport team manager Ryan Krikke couldn’t have been happier with how Saturday night turned out, as the team is now very close to clinching its very first Maddington Toyota Series crown.

“This was one of the most satisfying wins I’ve been involved with over the years, as the whole team put in a massive effort to even get to the track on Saturday night and to come away with the win was the perfect reward,” he said.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the whole team for all of their efforts to get this win, and I’d also like to thank the fellow teams who pitched in to help us on Friday night repair the car, as it’s

very much appreciated, and although we all race each other hard out on the track, the sportsmanship within Sprintcar racing is one of the big reasons I love this sport.” Now with a solid point standings lead, the Krikke Motorsport team heads into this Saturday night’s Maddington Toyota Series Grand Final at the Perth Motorplex looking to secure the series in style.

For the Krikke Motorsport team to secure the Maddington Toyota Series for the 2023-24 season, Kingshott needs to qualify into the feature race.
