• This Friday and Saturday night Bendigo’s Brenten Farrer will be chasing his first National Championship as he spearheads the Victorian contingent at the 2023 Australian Prosprints Championship at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway. Farrer has been lucky enough to have raced a Sprintcar with a big number 1 on the tail tank, but it only signified that he was the Victorian Champion, but this weekend he will be out to re-number his V34 to Australia 1.

“This season we probably haven’t had the seat time that I’d normally have at this stage of the year but I feel that we are well prepared. Last year I really feel we walked away from the Australian Championship with unfinished business” added Brenten in the lead up to the event this weekend.

“In my opinion we have the equipment to win so its up to me to do my job. I really have to thank Pete and Kath Morris from Maxwill Race Engines for providing me with such a great engine, they build the best Sprintcar engines out there” he added.

Over the past few years Farrer has been one of the pace setters in the 360ci class in Victoria recording back-to-back Victorian Titles, with the Championship only recently being taken away by Jordan Rae who claimed the 2023 Title at the Simpson Speedway.

Although his 2022 Australian 360ci Championship campaign didn’t go to plan with a pair of DNF’s in the Main events, in the past Brenten has been extremely fast at the 360-metre venue and he has 1 career win at the Murray Bridge Speedway with an Allstar victory in 2017.

The Victorian contingent will also include the likes of Charles Hunter, who was third in 2020 and fifth last year, Rusty Hickman, Paul Soloman, Steve Loader, Corey Sandow, Angus Hollis and Daniel Scott. Also making the trek will be Phil and Ben Micallef, who will campaign a pair of the LS powered Sprintcars.

The 2023 Australian Prosprints Championship will be conducted at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway between March 23 – 25, 2023 with the entry list now standing at 28 drivers from six Australian states.
