• Having enjoyed the amazing support of Multi-National Company Lucas Oil for a number of seasons, the announcement that Lucas Oil was undertaking a change of business strategy, meant that a proposed partnership extension with the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic was flipped on its head, resulting in the departure of Lucas Oil from the event, leaving a void that would need to be rapidly filled!

    Enter South West Conveyancing!

The founder of South West Conveyancing, Tania Jasper, along with partner Alistair McKean, were no strangers to Premier Speedway or the Classic, but little did the Club know that their next Naming Rights Partner was located so close to home!

“We were in a spot, we had just celebrated an extension of our agreement with Jeff Pahlke and Lucas Oil when Jeff called and advised us of Lucas Oil Australia’s parent company in he U.S taking a change in direction, a path that didn’t include the Classic”, Premier Speedway General Manager David Mills said.

“It wasn’t long after that Tania and Alistair made a very casual approach to us, offering to fill the breach as Naming Rights partners for 2018, giving us some time to try and source another Naming Rights Partner for the event”, Mills added.

Three years on and the Classic has continued to grow and the input
of South West Conveyancing, Tania, Alistair, their family has been a major driving force in that. The ‘12 month agreement’ has now seen three South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic’s completed, with an agreement now in place until at least 2022 when the Premier Speedway Club will host the 50th edition of the Classic.

“Events like the Classic can’t happen without some form of corporate support, or at least they cant happen at a level that we want it to, so for Tania and Alistair to step up when they did, and as they continue to do, is something that every competitor and Classic race fan should be very appreciative of”, Mills said.

“Going forward, we look forward to getting back to racing first and foremost, before getting a good look at what the 2021 Classic looks like and then we can hopefully power on towards the 50th running of the event in 2022. Having said that we are also mindful that Tania and Alistair will be monitoring the effects that COVID-19 has on their business and what that means to us as a Club as well as the many teams they support year in year out”.

“All we can ask is that anyone, whether they be a competitor, mechanic, official or race fan, who needs some Conveyancing work done, keep Tania and the South West Conveyancing team in mind as I’m sure the professional manner in which they conduct their business will make what can quite often seem a difficult time in the purchase of property seem so much easier”, Mills concluded.

    About South West Conveyancing:

South West Conveyancing was founded in Warrnambool in early 2012 by Tania Jasper, a Licenced Conveyancer and Legal Executive, who had previously had nearly 25 years’ experience with South West law firms and wanted to offer local property buyers and sellers an affordable alternative to the traditional legal firm in undertaking conveyancing property transactions.

From modest beginnings in a small office with Tania working alone, the firm has grown to now employ 14 staff across two offices located in Warrnambool and Portland. Over the past 8 years almost 10,000 conveyancing transactions have been undertaken, and in 2019 another 1,700 clients trusted South West Conveyancing to guide them through the process of buying, selling, transferring or subdividing their property, many for the second, third and fourth time.

Over the last five years, transfer of property has taken small but steady steps from the traditional manual and paper-centric system into the digital era, with the implementation of the PEXA (Property Exchange Australia) platform, a gateway between conveyancing practitioner, financial institutions and the Land Registries in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland. The PEXA platform enables financial settlement and digital transfer of property to be completed in real time. What this means for property buyers is almost instant registration of Land registry documents to transfer of the property Title to the buyer, and for sellers access to sale proceeds in most cases within an hour of the appointed settlement time.

Upon commencement of the PEXA network the Victorian Registrar of Titles set a timeframe for transition towards 100% digital lodgement of Land Registry instruments, and since October 1, 2018 all eligible conveyancing transactions must be completed electronically. South West Conveyancing embraced this digital revolution in its very early stages, lodging their first electronic Caveat in October 2014 and completing their first electronic settlement in February 2016 and accordingly the transition towards 100% electronic settlement was no obstacle for South West Conveyancing, who are now undertaking more than 98% of total monthly settlements in the online space. Testament to their early uptake and proficiency in transacting in the new system, in 2017 of a total of 5443 practitioners registered to use PEXA Australia wide, South West Conveyancing ranked at No. 2 in terms of volume of electronic settlements for that year, and No. 1 for the State of Victoria. An incredible milestone of 1,000 electronic settlements was achieved in September 2018, being only the third firm in Australia and second in Victoria to reach that milestone. Total electronic settlements to date now exceed 3,000!

South West Conveyancing has won Professional Service Awards on 2 occasions as well as the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (Vic Division) Regional Conveyancing Firm Award in 2013, and actively supports the community by way of sponsorship for charities and events as well as sporting clubs and individual competitors. No matter where you live, the firm can look after your conveyancing requirements for properties anywhere in Victoria.

South West Conveyancing is located at 92C Liebig Street, Warrnambool and can be contacted on (03) 5561 7223.
