• That Western Australian Supermods Title winning feeling returned for Braeden Aylmore on last Saturday night at Kalgoorlie International Speedway and he could not have done it in better style.

After winning his maiden Western Australian Title two seasons ago at Esperance Speedway, Aylmore was in fine form around the Kalgoorlie International Speedway track by dominating all three of his heat races, starting the feature race from pole position by virtue of winning the Pole Shootout, and then going on to dominate the 20-lap feature race.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better night and what made it even more special was the fact that it was a Western Australian Title,” commented the 24-year-old racer from Narrogin in Western Australia.

“To be honest, I wasn’t too confident heading into the Western Australian Title as Kalgoorlie International Speedway hasn’t been the track that I have had the best of runs there in my past five visits, but it all came together with a good car setup and I was able to drive consistency and it paid off with the best possible result.”

Aylmore’s 2019-20 season campaign had been a mix run but it has now taken a turn for the better following him picking up the second Western Australian Supermods Title success of his career.

Now with a pair of Western Australian Supermods Title wins to his name, Aylmore also has other career highlights as three Narrogin Speedway Club Championships, two minor Western Australian Supermods Title podium finishes, and a Western Australian Country Series point standings win.

Prior to stepping into Supermods, which are self-built frames, wings and panels that run 308ci Holden engine and a Toyota Hilux rear end, seven seasons ago, Aylmore spent two seasons in Junior Sedans.

With speedway in his blood from a young age, Aylmore proudly credits his dad, Darren, who is a 12 season veteran in the Supermods class and also the current Narrogin Speedway Club president, as the person that got him addicted to the sport of speedway.

The 2020-21 season plans for Aylmore are to step into the Wingless Sprints driving the second car for Kyle Beard from KJB Fabrication, along with doing selected major race meetings in the Supermods class.

Aylmore would like to thank his 2019-20 season sponsors:
