• This Sunday Daylesford Speedway will hold their annual Drivers Memorial where the club honours it's departed founders, members and heroes’. The complete race meeting is dedicated to those that have been, however are never forgotten. The Sports Sedans will compete for the David Coad Memorial whilst the novice entered competitors in the Ladies will be competing for the Roz Moynihan Encouragement accolades.

The David Coad Memorial in remembrance of a former club President, has attracted some great competition that includes the winner of the last Sports Sedan final held Katie Meyer. Meyer a Ballarat woman will find herself in a battle with another fast femme Kayla Knox who learnt her racing at Daylesford as a Junior racer.

Leigh Bourke who on a regular basis is at the front of the field will be back after a huge roll over at the last Daylesford show as is Nathan Fawns in the car that Bourke tore apart, Bourke in particular is in the frame to win whilst Fawns is no slouch either and hopes to get the better of his mate on Sunday. Jason Weil is on the pace and Corey Knox will be in action to honour a great family friend. Everybody wants to win the race, the action is sure to be close with a trio of Daylesford member racers keen to get their hands on a trophy also in Ryan Daly, Ian Bartlett and Kial Millican.

A huge list of fifteen Ladies have nominated for competition. The field will be split into two separate groups of racing for the day with novice Ladies and a field of experienced Ladies competitors. Whilst the current leading Ladies competitor has been Rickylee Basten, there is plenty of experience on track this Sunday with Casey Newlan, Lizzi Heaney, Hayley Hutchins, Katie Meyer and Belinda Taylor just to name a few. With the Roz Moynihan novice encouragement racing on plus the more experienced Ladies doing battle, everybody has a chance to claim a share of the limelight.

In Daylesford’s supporting club racing divisions the A Modifieds won by Troy Desmond-Veal at the last race meeting will be terrific with Dave Barrie heading back into town to have a crack at Desmond-Veal. Jackson Basten will be In the thick of things too, a winner is hard to pick.

Blake Harris will lead a field of almost ten competitors in the Junior Sedans and continue on with his battle with the likes for the Kakoschke boys Coby, Bailey and Reece. Hayley Smith in her Torana is a fierce competitor also.

Des Robinson for a long time at the last race meeting was knocking on the door of eventual winner Scott Purdie, this week without Purdie Robinson should be in a tough battle with Jayden Humphrey, Glen McCoubrie and Graham Miller in Street Stock action.

A number of new competitors will travel to Daylesford from the South East Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula suburbs from the Nyora Club to do battle in Standard Saloon action. Robbie Noonan returns with Justin Hutchins, Ash Dean and Bradley Dickson to compete against Priscilla Grech, Justin Crerar and the very fast Paul Domburg. Daniel Walkinshaw is another tough competitor travelling from the South of Melbourne.

Another entertaining class on the day will be the visiting Ace of Spades Vintage Sedan club. The Ace of Spades come with a variety of old-time race machines that include 34 Ford’s and some old time Chev’s. The category is full of old-time rockers who love to kick along and have some fun. Vintage have some rules in the class to try and minimise the risk of contact between any of the great old machines, however that does not mean they mess about, they are going quick and they are looking for every opportunity to find something to brag about.
