• It was a tough return in every sense of the word for Adrian Haywood on Friday night, when he took to the Perth Motorplex with the penultimate round of QSS Wold Series Sprintcars.

Haywood was very much aware that qualifying is key to a successful night, and generally this season, Haywood has performed well in the two laps that count so much towards having a good night at the office. Qualifying would not be kind to Haywood though on this occasion, with a Radius Rod Stud in the Steering breaking, putting the Plus Fitness Halls Head, Thorny Devil Craft Beer & Cider W88 into the fence, with Haywood then not able to record a second lap.

The team worked feverishly to have the car ready for the second heat of the first round, with Haywood starting off the front row. Despite a relatively good start, something was still wrong with the car, which then manifested into the same issue in the second round of heats, putting Haywood off the second back row in the B Main.

Haywood would finish the B Main, but still with steering issues, forcing the team into a late night and early morning to get the car ready for Grand Final night (Saturday).

“Not fun at all last night, but we be back to have a crack again tonight. The car was better for the B Main, but nowhere near where we needed it to be”, Haywood said.

Racing commences at 6.00pm, with Qualifying from 5.15pm.
