• Adrian Haywood returns to racing this Friday and Saturday nights at the Perth Motorplex, with the final two nights of World Series Sprintcars.

Haywood last raced in December and with the birth of his third child, moving house and repairing a severely damaged race car from Boxing Night, Haywood will return in a brand new Chassis on Friday night, after a hectic two month layoff.

At official practice on Wednesday night, Haywood was able to get plenty of laps in, and couldn’t be happier with the set up of the car.
“It was great, really happy with how the new car feels straight off the blocks”, he said.

This weekend will see the biggest car count of the season, with an all-star cast to contest the final rounds of World Series Sprintcars. With in excess of thirty entries, qualifying for the A Mains will be tough.

“Qualifying is the key, a strong qualifying can set up your entire night, hoping to qualify in the top ten or thereabouts to make the show both nights”, Haywood added.

Previous events in the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series has seen Haywood qualify inside the top five, but with 34 drivers, the significance of perfecting one of the two laps is magnified 100% in the official qualifying period at 5.15pm on Friday evening.

Racing at the Perth Motorplex commences at 6.00pm, and with fine and warm weather forecast, a big crowd is expected both nights.
