• Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, a mere 37 miles from Knoxville Raceway, it is little wonder that Speedway has become the long-held passion of McKenna Haase, with the now resident of Indianapolis set to tick another item off the bucket list by contesting the 48th South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

Haase will be a part of a field that has again eclipsed the 100-entry mark as the first ever female Sprintcar Feature race winner at Knoxville Raceway makes the trek to Warrnambool for Sydney based car owners Matt and Sharmaine Thomas.

Having had her first taste of 410 Sprintcar action recently as a part of Sydney Speedweek, Haase has been a regular at Knoxville Raceway in both 305 and 360ci Sprintcar competition.

With the support of Western Sydney Mechanical, Flair Dancewear, ProLube Lubricants, Thomas Fibre Glass, Glenmore Park Plumbing and Autojet, Haase will drive the USA 55 entry at Sungold Stadium.

Haase’s entry brings the number of American entrants to Ten for the 2020 edition of the Classic.

The General Jack Lee is another crowd favorite to add his name to the long list of entrants for the three-day Classic event.

Lee who returned from injury at Max’s Race in December has been in great form since and will be looking for a strong run through his qualifying night to ensure he gives himself every chance of making the 24-car field for the Classic finale on Sunday night.

The V25 Maxim will be powered by a Rider Race Engines powerplant and will be adorned with the support of Lee Contracting, Lilley’s Lane Quarries, Roadside Mowing, Keayang Farms, LPS, Webber & Chivell Fertilisers, Chris Smith Concreting, Maxim Racing and Rider Race Engines.

The General finished the 2019 Classic with a 6th placed run in B-Main 1, narrowly missing the transfer to the A-Main.

Also narrowly missing the Classic feature in 2019 was South Australian driver Keke Falland.

Falland drives the S78 Cool Chassis, somewhat uniquely with a Ford engine between the down tubes.

Rivergraphics, Ronco Motors, New Holland, Southern Contracting Group, C.A. Hampel Partners, J, K and B Hampel, H & R Petch, Ken’s Exhausts, Bluey’s Crash Repairs, Cool Chassis ad Steven Falland Electrical will also be along for the ride whenever the Keke hits the track.

Cobden’s Rhys Baxter finished 15th in C-Main 1 in 2019 and he, like everyone in the field, will be looking to improve on that.

The VA81 is a strikingly good-looking car when on track and will come to Warrnambool with the support of Kevin’s Transport, Webber and Chivell Fertilisers, Cooriemungle Contracting, ProSide Select, Ultra Engineering, Prossers Paint and Panel, Rhim Clean’n’ and K & M Baxter Home Improvements.

Brett Smith will make a return to the Classic after an hiatus of a couple of seasons aboard his familiar V39 entry with support from Garry Rodgers Motorsport and Battery Stop while in some late breaking news Lachlan McHugh will now contest the Classic in his family backed Q23 entry with the support of SEDL Civil Contractors, IWS Haulage, Volvo Commercial Vehicles, Dondex Sheds, Right Price Auto Parts and Global Lubricants.

The 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic is supported by KFC, Performance Racegear, The Lady Bay Resort, GJ Gardner Homes and KRE Race Engines and will be held from Friday January 24, 2020 through to Sunday January 26, 2020.

Tickets for the Classic are currently available via www.premierspeedway.com.au with three and single night ticket options available.

On-line sales will cease at midnight on Thursday January 23, 2020 with nightly ticket sales available from the Warrnambool side gates from 9am on Friday January 24, 2020.

Copies of the 2020 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2019 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au

    End Release.
