• The 2019 Australian Sprintcar Champion Andrew Scheuerle has this afternoon confirmed he will contest his first Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic since 2016 as he prepares for a whirlwind trip south to contest the Classic and defend his National Championship at Latrobe a week later.

Since claiming the Australian Sprintcar Championship, when he led home James McFadden and Jamie Veal at Archerfield Speedway, Scheuerle has been on somewhat of a whirlwind ride, that even included an impromptu American campaign that took in the Knoxville Nationals.

Throughout the 2019-20 season thus far, Scheuerle has been a regular at both Archerfield and Toowoomba with some cameo appearances at Sydney Speedway as well.

The beautifully presented A1 J&J will be powered by a KRE Race Engines Power Plant will hit the track at Sungold Stadium with the support of Long Time supporters The Ausdeck Group, Castrol Australia, P1 Performance Racegear, Ian Boettcher Race Parts, KRE Race Engines, Marlin 4 Miles and J&J Auto Racing.

The 2018 Classic Champion, Corey McCullagh, will be looking to put a nightmare 2019 campaign behind him after a tyre issue in his opening heat race last January put paid to his weekend and left him with an injured wrist.

To that point McCullagh had been clinical in what was his Classic Title defense, having timed well and also having looked strong in his heat race up until the incident that curtailed his weekend.

Being back in his own car in recent times, McCullagh will be searching to recapture the car speed that saw him burst onto the National scene for his team and his partners including South West Conveyancing, Owenbuilt Homes, Owentruss, TAG Plaster, Warrnambool RV and Caravan Centre, PSH Electrical, GGS Bathroom Solutions and RA Slater Family.

McCullagh is one of nine Classic Champions currently entered for the 48th running of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

Another of the drivers to have made the A-Main in 2019 was South Australian hard charger Ryan Jones.

Jones has spent the best part of the season campaigning between Murray Bridge and Sydney Speedway but will return to Sungold Stadium for the another shot at the Classic, having finished 24th in 2019.

Jones will campaign a Triple X Chassis with support from Murray Machining and Sheds and Rivercity Sheds as the multi-time National 360 Sprintcar Champion embarks on his Classic run.

Portland Speedster Adam King is another of the drivers who is returning to the Classic field having missed the 2019 edition of the event.

King will be at the wheel of the Port City Engines, Allstar Graphics, TriTech Lubricants and Superior Bearing Supply Triple X.

The 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic is supported by KFC, Performance Racegear, The Lady Bay Resort, GJ Gardner Homes and KRE Race Engines and will be held from Friday January 24, 2020 through to Sunday January 26, 2020.

Tickets for the Classic are currently available via www.premierspeedway.com.au with three and single night ticket options available.

On-line sales will cease at midnight on Thursday January 23, 2020 with nightly ticket sales available from the Warrnambool side gates from 9am on Friday January 24, 2020.

Copies of the 2020 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2019 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au

    End Release.
