• The 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic is just two weeks away with the festivities set to kick off with the Classic Breakfast from 9.30am on Friday January 24, 2020 at the Wannon Function Centre.

The change of venue to the Wannon Function Centre at the Warrnambool Greyhound Track will enable a larger amount of race fans to enjoy the now traditional Classic heart starter!

Bookings for the Breakfast are filling fast and with a star-studded panel, including American Star Kyle Larson set to be a part of the program along with Knoxville Raceway’s Hall of Fame Flagman Doug Clark and many other guests, with Wade Aunger as the host.

Bookings can still be made by contacting the Premier Speedway office on (03) 5565 1789 – but be quick as with tickets still just $25 it is filling fast.

The Classic field looks set to nudge the 100 mark once again, with a number of key players nominating today ahead of the official close off, for tow money benefits, on Monday afternoon.

Having finished 15th (2019), 8th (2018) and 2nd (2017) Darren Mollenoyux is one of the local Warrnambool based drivers to have figured out what it takes to make the final field of 24 for the Classic final.

Having recently acquired the plum ride aboard the Dickson Motorsport V3 entry, Molly will return to his own V52 GF1 Chassis, powered by an Inglis Race Engine for another assault on the Classic, thus allowing Shane Stewart to accept the drive for Dickson.

Molly will come to Sungold Stadium with plenty of local support including Warrnambool Crane Hire, Parr Motorsports, Chemblast Industrial Coatings, Cassign and McLaren Hunt Financial.

Like Molly, Brett Milburn has achieved much within the Sprintcar ranks in Victoria and he too will be a part of the 2020 Classic.

Driving his Parr Motorsports, Idigit and B & B Retaining Walls backed KPC Chassis with a Rider Engine for company.

Milburn endured a tough 2019 Classic, finishing with a C-Main appearance so he will be looking to improve on that result when the first wheel is turned on Friday January 24.

New South Welshman, Brayden Willmington, has been somewhat of a regular at Sungold Stadium this season having campaigned both a Sprintcar and Speedcar at Premier Speedway.

In both divisions, Willmington has shown a strong liking of running the high groove against the Warrnambool wall, showing great driver craft in the process, skills he has acquired from an American non-wing campaign this most recent off-season.

For the Classic weekend Willmington, who didn’t contest the event in 2019, will enjoy the support of Facet @ 124 Jeweler as he wheels the distinctive N89 Spike Chassis into battle.

Cobden based racer Carly Walsh is another who didn’t contest the 2019 Classic but is up for the challenge of the 2020 edition.

Walsh who has been somewhat of a regular in the Eureka Sprintcar Series will be at the wheel of the VA4 Maxim, with father and former Classic winning crew chief Mark “Freddy” Walsh calling the shots.

The Walsh camp has great supported afforded to them by Yarra Valley Towing, Chemblast, LPS, Mark Benton Farm Machinery, Carman’s Windscreens, CK Racing Wheels and KC Errey & Co.

The 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic is supported by KFC, Performance Racegear, The Lady Bay Resort, GJ Gardner Homes and KRE Race Engines and will be held from Friday January 24, 2020 through to Sunday January 26, 2020.

Tickets for the Classic are currently available via www.premierspeedway.com.au with three and single night ticket options available.

On-line sales will cease at midnight on Thursday January 23, 2020 with nightly ticket sales available from the Warrnambool side gates from 9am on Friday January 24, 2020.

Copies of the 2020 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2019 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
