• It is now official, American NASCAR Star Kyle Larson will join 2018 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic Runner-Up Carson Macedo in what is a potent two-car team for Singleton, NSW based car owner Sean Dyson.

The entry forms have been lodged, with Dyson having put all of the logistical pieces of the puzzle together to launch an audacious assault on the 2020 version of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

Both Macedo and Larson will have immaculately prepared KPC Chassis, with KRE Race Engines supplying the horsepower with Macedo having already shown some great car speed at Sydney Speedway during Speedweek. He has also been somewhat of a dominant force in a Speedcar (Midget) for car owner Dyson over the same period.

The team will enjoy the backing of Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions, Empire Machinery and Heritage Farming.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Star Larson, will need no introduction to Carson Macedo, with the young Californian having spent the 2019 World of Outlaws Tour at the wheel of the Kyle Larson Racing No.2, finishing sixth in the points championship.

Macedo who won his Classic preliminary night in 2019, before recording an 11th place finish in the Sunday night Classic final, enjoyed a strong season on the Outlaw Tour with four feature race wins from 16 top five results.

Larson himself contested a small number of Outlaw events, recording wins at Fairbury Speedway and Lawrenceburg Speedway as a part of his limited schedule. He also managed a win with the All-Star Circuit of Champions at Attica Speedway in Ohio.

Since the completion of the 2019 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which saw the native of Elk Grove, California finish sixth in Championship points, having made the prestigious Championship Chase with one Race win at Dover International Speedway on October 6, Larson has been plying his craft predominantly in Speedcar (Midget) competition.

Prior to Christmas Larson dominated the Gateway Dirt Nationals in St. Louis, Missouri, before travelling to New Zealand to compete in the hotly contested World Midget Series.

Larson will return to the US prior to the Classic for the Chili Bowl before embarking on his first trip to Australia since 2015-16, with his only previous Classic appearance being as a virtual unknown back in 2012 when he drove for Victorian car owner/driver Brett Milburn.

Macedo has been a regular at the Classic with 2020 set to be his fifth consecutive appearance at Sungold Stadium for the major Sprintcar weekend of the summer.

Since debuting at the Classic for Victorian car owner Dave Challons in 2016, which resulted in an 8th place run in B-Main 1, Macedo has made the last three Classic finals, placing 13th in 2017, 2nd in 2018 and 11th in 2019 while campaigning for Sean and Felicity Dyson and the Dyson Motorsport Outfit.

Dyson himself is no stranger to the Classic and indeed victory lane with another Californian in Tim Kaeding having spectacularly taken the N99 to victory in 2014, while Paul McMahan has also been entrusted with the reigns of Dyson’s equipment prior to Macedo filling the role.

Now with Carson Macedo and Kyle Larson as teammates and with both drivers having designs on coming to the Classic for one thing and one thing only – A Classic Win, it promises to add a very exciting dimension to what is looking like being a very strong field for the 48th running of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

The 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic is supported by KFC, Performance Racegear, The Lady Bay Resort, GJ Gardner Homes and KRE Race Engines and will be held from Friday January 24, 2020 through to Sunday January 26, 2020.

Tickets for the Classic are currently available via www.premierspeedway.com.au with three and single night ticket options available.

On-line sales will cease at midnight on Thursday January 23, 2020 with nightly ticket sales available from the Warrnambool side gates from 9am on Friday January 24, 2020.

Copies of the 2020 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2019 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
