• It was a tough Boxing Night for Adrian Haywood at the Perth Motorplex on Thursday night, before a bumper crowd, which finished with plenty of positives.

Despite not finishing the thirty lap A Main, Haywood completed twenty five laps, withdrawing at the final stoppage with a car that was far from 100% after an earlier collision.

“The car felt a bit funny, probably two laps before the red light on lap twenty seven, and as it turned out is was that the bolts stripped out of the right hand steering arm, so I decided to pull out of the race. Super happy with how the car felt, I got into a rhythm and it was important for me to get laps”, Haywood said.

Haywood would start at the back of the sixteen car field for the A Main, after non finishing his first heat and placing sixth in the second qualifying heat.

“We rolled out for the Feature with the car a little worse for wear, but with a big crowd, with sponsors, family and friends in the stands, it was important for us to get back out there, but my goal for the Feature was to move forward, which we did, we put in some consistent laps, and we will go into Saturday with more confidence”, he added.

Haywood had moved to ninth place at the final stoppage with three laps remaining when he withdrew, with the race won by Daniel Harding.

The In10sity Race Team, will work all day Friday to get the car checked over and ready for Round Two of the USA v WA Sprintcar Speedway Series on Saturday night, again at the Perth Motorplex.
