This Saturday night a large field of Sprintcars have nominated to attend a Victorian Sprintcar Association points night attracting eighteen cars, whilst the Standard Saloons with their Bairnsdale 400 mini feature event and the Junior Standard Saloons with their Boost to Drive feature are also featured.

Adding some variety to the nights schedule is the Limited Sportsman.

With the absence of the current and former Victorian Champions in the Sprintcars, the race opens up a little wider for others to take the big win. Shane Steenholdt will start out on paper as the favourite however Adam Greenwood, Alastair Bastian and Dillon Siely know the fast way around Bairnsdale Speedway, they will be giving Steenholdt plenty of curry on Saturday night. The class is increasing in terrific numbers with former Wingless Sprint racer around Gippsland David McKay returning to Bairnsdale in his Sprintcar, Owen Bulman returns after some time driving Hyundai Excels on the bitumen and Jordan Abbott steps into a winged warrior after racing some Wingless Sprints in recent seasons.

Eighteen Standard Saloons have entered the mini feature the Bairnsdale 400 with Leigh Gooding and Gordon Russell two veterans keen to take the big win. Joshua Thomas and Patrick Farry are amongst the young guns in the field that also includes Natasha Curtis who has already won at Drouin this season and the man that keeps buying a race car because the wife wants him out of the house, Johnny Watson.

Jack Yeoman’s leads nominations in the Boost to Drive Junior mini feature with Blake Smith, Nathalya Westwood and Beau Stuchbery also in the field. In Limited Sportsman Lindsay Trotter and Darren Adams, the current Victoria 1 and 2 are in the small field with Tim McKenzie who won the final event of the season last year along with Mark Both, Brett Maxwell and Jason Hurley all on hand to aim for victory.

Cost of entry to the race meeting is $20 for adults, Aged Pensioners $15, Children 8yrs to 16 are $5 and all those under the age of 8 are free. A family of two adults and two kids under the age of 16 will pay $40-
