• The 2021 Australian Wingless Sprint Championship has been awarded to Murray Machining & Sheds Speedway Murray Bridge.

Already with a strong Wingless Sprint culture and an increased commitment to the category with the $10,000 to win final round of the lucrative Australian Wingless Sprint Super Series on March 6-8, 2020 the iconic Murray Bridge venue is the perfect fit for the 2021 title.

The news is sure to be met with excitement from the South Australian Wingless Sprint community but also teams from WA, QLD, NSW and Victoria as well.

Two times Australian Champion Joel Chadwick (pictured) is naturally delighted to see the national championship come back to his ‘backyard’.

“It’s the best wingless track in the country and we are lucky to race their often. The title will be enjoyed by everyone if last year’s slider-fest SA state title is anything to go by.

To get to compete in a title at my home track will be a mint experience. I can’t wait.

Sydney front-runner Jason Bates – a regular at Murray Bridge from his home track Valvoline Raceway – is also excited about the news.

“I’m super keen to get back to MMSS for the 2021 title. After racing there this year I think it’s the best Wingless track in Australia and the 2021 event could possibly be the best Aussie title yet!”

Murray Machining & Sheds Speedway’s Darren Shaddock is thrilled to secure the title.

“The Wingless Sprint class is an important category for Australian Speedway. The car count is tremendous throughout the country and it’s a great feeder class for Sprintcars or a great home base for drivers who wish to stay there for their entire careers. The affordability of the cars and the running costs make it a very popular entry level or continued career racing path. We have some tremendous drivers in South Australia and we can’t wait to host the title on February 25/26/27, 2021.”

    Ends release…
