• Consistency is often the key to winning and that has definitely been the case for Matt Davis this season, with the composed racer topping the Limited Sprintcar Association of WA Series point score by virtue of collecting numerous top-five results.

The accomplished go karter, who achieved numerous WA and NT Title victories before trading asphalt for dirt, initially had his introduction into the class as a pit crew member for multiple WA Limited Sprintcar Title winner Robbie Stephens, later making the decision to purchase his own QT Limited Sprintcar at the beginning of last season.

While he didn’t figure in last season’s series point score as he adjusted to his new car, the 29-year-old’s debut season was highlighted by running third in the City of Karratha Sprintcar Stampede at Nickol Bay Speedway.

Updating to his # 66 Five Star Earthmoving supported Maxim this season, Davis was a model of consistency, remarkably finishing every single race he contested and racking up multiple top-five finishes, including fifth place in the WA Title, which were enough to win him the overall Limited Sprintcar Association of WA Series.

“Winning the overall series is definitely a very satisfying way to see out the 2018-19 season,” stated the Geraldton, WA-based racer, who has also been joined on track by his brother Nathan this season, another go karter whose resume includes over 10 WA and NT Title wins.

“It’s all come down to teamwork for us this season. I just drive the car, but without a good team around me, none of this would have been possible.

“I can’t thank my crew enough for all of the long hours and hard work they’ve put in throughout the season, which has allowed us to be as consistent as we have been, and the fact that we haven’t experienced a single DNF this season is a real testament to that work.”

For his next appearance, Davis will travel to Nickol Bay Speedway to contest the City of Karratha Sprintcar Stampede, which will take place over two nights on May 17 and 18.

Throughout the 2018-19 season, Davis is proudly supported by the following sponsors:
    Five Star Earthmoving
    Diesel Pro Mechanical
    Triple C Carriers
    Illusion Vinyl Wraps & Graphics
    Karratha Beach Tyres
    Midwest Pumpcrete
    BPH WA
    Hollywood Blast & Paint
    Control Services Australia

Special thanks go to Davis’ crew chief Matt Peaker, and his pit crew, which consists of his dad Steve, brother Nathan, Steve Morin, Cameron Donegan and Jordan Lee. Thanks also to Davis’ mum Louise, girlfriend Lauren, and Peter Daden (Pops).
