The Speedway Sedans Australia, Mental Racewear, National Street Stock Title is just two weeks away with 134 drivers putting the final touches to their cars, before heading from all points of the compass, to the B &S Earthworks, Timmis Speedway Mildura.

Shaun McClure does not have far to travel, with the twenty nine year old living in Mildura.

McClure is a novice in Street Stock, having a Sprintcar background, having only raced once in his AU Ford Falcon at Timmis Speedway this season.

In my first heat race and first every drive, I came second in my heat race and finished 7th in the final out of 30 odd cars, he explains.
I have raced many tracks in other classes but only Mildura once in a street stock, McClure adds.

I came to Street Stocks because the maintenance is a lot less then what we often did in Sprintcars and the price of racing for the enjoyment is a lot less as well. A good night racing costs about as much as one right rear on a Sprintcar, he said.

If I could make the top fifty in the title that will be amazing, I am looking forward to just being a part of it all, and racing against a different group of people. I am hoping any of the Mildura boys can bring it home. Would be good to see Corey Sandow go one better or have Brad McClure come through, McClure said.
