• Going into this weekend’s round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series at Moama Brenten “Smooch” Farrer currently sits in sixth overall on the points chart and having tasted success previously at the venue he will be hoping that his recent strong run will continue.

Over the past two weekends Farrer has raced in two different states and with this weekend race being in New South Wales he is certainly clocking up the kilometres. Last Saturday night at Hamilton saw Farrer’s best qualifying effort in a 410ci Sprintcar after starting on the front row and running in a strong second position before a racing incident saw Brenten set to the rear for stopping on the race track. By race end he would record another top 10 result, but the result was hard to swallow considering his first 410 podium was so close.

“I was guttered, we had wicked car speed. I was mowing down Matthew (Reed) when I got turned around” lamented Farrer following the race.

The week prior saw Brenten fly to Tasmania to compete at Latrobe in the Rodin Dawkins owned #29. Having never raced at the track Brenten was relatively happy with a seventh placed result.

“It as a fantastic opportunity and something that doesn’t come around often. The gesture and hospitality were world class and I can’t thank Jo and Robin enough for making not only me but my parents and main sponsors welcome.

We took some time to make myself comfortable in the car, but Robin did just that and away we went. The final was a bit tricky, I had to play it smart but a top ten was a great outcome and I’m more than happy. Racing in a new state and with a new car I was so proud of the result” added Brenten in an appreciative manner.

“I must thank Robin’s supporters for the opportunity. Tamar Cars, Kart Magic, Phil Davey Sheetmetal, Maxwill Motors and ASD Shocks”.

In addition to the Dawkins Motorsport sponsors Brenten would like to thank the following corporate supporters for their involvement in the 2018/19 Sprintcar Season: Frijtek Industrial Refrigeration, Porkers Transport, B&G Clancy Farm Contracting, Remote Tree Services, Ayross Racing, B.A.T Training and Assessments, BNR Race Engines, Kouda Signs, PRP Engineering, JB Speedway Spares, BF Car Carriers, Brack Earthmovers and Phil Michell Motorsport Media.
