• Rushworth Speedway this Saturday night plays host to another of Victoria’s biggest Speedway Victorian championships with the Super Sedans in town to compete for their championship glory in an event that includes Victorians, South Australians, Queenslanders and New South Welshmen all driven to earn that coveted number one moniker.

Defending champion David Gartner from South Australia will have his work cut out for him with the likes Ryan Alexander also from South Australia, Peter Nicola a three times state champ, his brother Mick a two times champion and Lucas Roberts a five times Victorian champion all keen to add to their tally.

Matt Pascoe the current Queensland champion is also in the field and is a multiple times state champion up north, others to watch include Ash Bergmeier, Mick Nicola Jnr, Andrew White from New South Wales, Jamie Collins and Trent Wilson from Queensland.

The big powerful eight cylinder machines are spectacular in sound and in race manoeuvres as they hike the left front tyre up off the race surface as they get around the turns at each end of the race track.

Picking a winner is just too tough, however race fans are encouraged to get into a little friendly competition with each other selecting who they think might win.

With all the action and pizzazz that comes with holding a Victorian Super Sedan title, the Production Sedans and the Junior Sedans are the only support classes this weekend.

The Production Sedans competition will be strong with defending champion of the class Shane Hutchins in the line-up and the likes of Mark Cecil, Bevan Hutchins, Leigh Jeffery and Troy Britton who have all been winners either last year or this year at Rushworth.

The Hutchins boys will be looking to get some momentum of their own going as far as winning is concerned whilst Cecil always shines when there is a big stage and a big crowd.

In the Junior Sedans Lachie Fitzpatrick continues to win at home and away at venues such as Swan Hill, he is looking to continue his dominance in the class with Josh and Luke Cecil, Daniel Smith, Tristan McGraw and rookie Cooper Laurie all in the field to challenge him.

Racing begins from 4pm on Saturday with entry costs $25 per adult, aged pensioners are $15, kids 12 to 16 are $12.50 each and under the age of 12 is FREE, whilst a family of 2 adults and 2 kids 12 to 16 is $60
