• Kaiden Manders and the #60 J&S Drilling Sprintcar team were very competitive once again at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday evening.
Seventeen cars contested the Qualifying session in three separate groups.
Manders was second fastest in his group and the fourth quickest overall with a 14.868 second circulation of the 500 metre banked oval.
He started from position 2 in his first 8-lap heat race and went straight into the lead.
Manders crossed the line more than the length of the straight in front of the opposition (5.043 seconds) and recorded the fastest lap time in the event (14.425 seconds).
Next time out he moved from position 7 to finish third.
Manders started from position 4 in the 30-lap Feature race.
He dropped back to fifth soon after the start, then worked his way up into third spot.
On lap 9 he was racing wide around turn 2 when something broke on the car, sending him into the wall.
Sadly his great performance on the night did not end the way the team wanted.

    Manders said after the event:-
"It was shaping up to be a really good race in the feature and the crew gave me a really good car. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on our side once again as we broke a bolt on the track rod going into the corner which ended our night. Hopefully our luck turns around for World Series."

The J&S Drilling Sprintcar Team will head down to Albany this coming weekend for the first WA round of the annual World Series Sprintcars competition.

The J&S Drilling W60 team wish to acknowledge the support of their loyal sponsors who enable us to keep on racing.
