• The 2018 Victorian Sprintcar Title and the Formula 500 Jack Willsher Cup headline an action-packed night of racing this coming Saturday night at Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool, with strong fields signaling their intentions to be a part of the show with thanks to event partners Go Traffic.

With the Victorian Sprintcar Title also doubling as Round 2 of the Parr Motorsports Track Premiership which currently sees Opening Night A-Main winner James McFadden leading the way on 154 points, from Jamie Veal (148) and Jye O’Keeffe (146), a number of interstate invaders will again make the trek to Warrnambool, with young guns Lachlan McHugh and Jock Goodyer set to join the likes of two-time Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic Champion Steven Lines in making their first Sungold Stadium appearance of the season.

Warrnambool based drivers, McFadden, Veal, O’Keeffe, Darren Mollenoyux, Peter Doukas and Corey McCullagh filled the first six finishing places of the Opening A-Main of the season on November 3, with the challengers to the Local Contingent in the battle for the Victorian Title likely to come from defending Champion David Murcott, Lines, Luke Walker, Grant Anderson, Rusty Hickman and John Vogels.

In the Jack Willsher Cup, the Formula 500’s have produced a star-studded cast for what will be a hard fought affair.

Two-time and defending Jack Willsher Cup winner and current Aussie Champ – Liam Williams – headlines the entry list, which includes former Australian Champion and JW Cup winner Dylan Willsher, Jack Bell, Chris and Dion Bellman and Leigh Van Ginneken while former Sprintcar pilots Tim and Rob Rankin will join a big field of drivers that also includes several interstate stars.

The public gates will open at 4pm on Saturday with the Opening Formula 500 heats set to hit the track at 5pm. The Sprintcars format will consist of Hot Laps (Qualifying in hot laps), Two Rounds of Heats, a Top 8 Shoot-Out and then a C, B and A-Main to decide the Victorian Champion.
