• The first of two visits to the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway for the Victorian based Australian 360ci Sprintcar Allstars Series will take place this weekend with Round 2 of the Mainline Dynalog Dynamometers supported series. The series kicked off with an action-packed opener last Saturday night in Mildura with Renmark local Dan Evans taking the win and he will be hoping to repeat his performance, but he will have a strong field of over 20 drivers to contend with in order to chalk up back to back wins.

Joining Evans in the field will be one of the toughest 360ci Sprintcar line-ups seen at Murray Bridge for some time with the entry list loaded with former Series Champions, State Champions and multiple round winners.

The local South Australian contingent includes the likes of former Series and State Champion Mark Caruso, Dan Evans and Brendan Quinn, who are both State Championship winners, last Saturday night’s runner up Brendan Guerin, former round winner Michael Lovegrove, Murray Bridge resident Jarman Dalitz and regular 410ci racer Terry Pitt.

With this being a Victorian based series some of the best drivers from across the border will also be present including dual Victorian Champion Michael Tancredi, who was on the podium in Mildura, Phil Lock, who is tied for the most round wins in series history, James Wren, Mildura’s Shaun McClure and Bendigo based drivers Darren Clark and Michael Holt.

The format for the night will feature hot laps, time trial, two rounds of heats, a pole shuffle, B-Main and a 30 lap A-Main.

The main support category on the night will be the third appearance of the season for the Wingless Sprints with an entry list of 27 drivers, which includes the return of the Australian Champion Joel Chadwick. Joining him in one of the best club event fields ever assembled will be two-time MMS feature winner Matthew Kennedy, recently crowned Aussie Racing Car Champion Joel Heinrich, Anthony Tapley, Jake Ashworth, Jack McCarthy, Michael Spoljaric and a strong representation from Mildura based drivers, ensuring that the racing this weekend will be extremely exciting.

A big field of Street Stocks and the Junior Sedans will round out the racing program this Saturday night.
