  • Kalgoorlies Jack Barnewall has taken out Round One of the 2018 Novus Autoglass Speedway Sedan Digest Street Stock Gold Cup Series held at Carnarvon Speedway across the weekend.

    Barnewall defeated a small field in the annual Stocksville event with locals Jace Kempton and Jarrod Rick rounding out the podium.

    Kempton and Barnewall swapped the lead for the majority of twenty lap main event with the two pulling a handy margin over the rest of the field. Wade Mason who had been having a consistent weekend retired on lap eight with mechanical issues with Jarrod Rick and Kane Munro having a great battle for third place after Masons demise
    Barnewall would get the better of Kempton in the latter stages to bring home his Holden Commodore in first place.

    Paul Norman was the only car not to start the feature race with the next round of the Speedway Sedan Digest Street Stock Gold Cup Series to be held at Shark Bay Speedway on Saturday 7th July in conjunction with the annual Far Western Championships.
