This weekend the season will come to a close for the Mitchell Motorsport Team and their driver Danny Reidy as head back to Toowoomba for the Grand Final of the USC Qld on Saturday April 21. After a creditable 12th placed result at the previous round on Easter Friday the Team will be hoping to end the series on a high, as they chase their second main event win of the season.

“We hope that we can secure a good result in the last round and finish in the top five in the USC Championship. This Championship has become so competitive, any one of ten teams are more than capable of winning a feature race” added Team Owner Peter Mitchell as he prepared for the race this weekend.

“With all cars having to drop their worst round, anything is possible. On corrected points going into the last round, Danny sits in sixth place so if we can move up a spot or two we will be extremely happy”.

At the previous round of the USC Qld on Easter Friday a record line-up of forty-two Sprintcars turned up at Toowoomba for night one of the Easter trail with Danny qualifying in sixteenth. Less than half a second separated the top 21 cars to show all in attendance just how competitive this category continues to be.

Heat 1 saw Danny start from position 5, on what was a lightning fast racing surface. The track record was lowered to a 10.7 second lap just to prove how fast it was. Danny drove a smart calculated race to take third.

On what was still a super quick surface Danny would finish in fifth after starting in that position.

His results saw Danny qualify straight into the A-Main in fourteenth, and with no sign of the track slowing, it was always going to be tough run from that position. During the race Danny got up to tenth position prior to him being left with nowhere to go while trying to avoid a spinning car. He would then go all the back finally clawing his way to twelfth at the end of the 40-lap journey.
