• After somewhat of a hiatus since Corey McCullagh’s thrilling South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic victory back in January, it won’t be long now until the Sprintcars return to Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool with plenty going on the line!

Still to come are the Grand Final of the Eureka Sprintcar Series on Sunday March 11, as presented by local supporters Wheelie Waste on a program that will also feature the Victorian Title for Legend Cars.

Following on from that it will be all eyes on the Geelong Harley Davidson Easter Sprintcar Trail when Cassign presents all the excitement and colour that is the final night of the traditional Easter Extravaganza, which as always will feature a massive Fireworks Display and the Super Rod Cup.

The season will then be wound up with the return of 360 Sprintcars to Premier Speedway for round 3 of the Triple Crown Series, along with a high-class field of Super Sedans and the Grand Final of the VMPA Modified Production Series on Saturday April 14, on a night where just $30 will admit two adults and two children 15 and Under to the venue!

As the business end of the season approaches, several drivers and teams have so much to play for.

The Grand Final of the Eureka Sprintcar Series will pay $5,000.00 to the winner on March 11, while many drivers remain in contention for the $10,000.00 Championship purse courtesy of Eureka Garages and Sheds.

With Heartland Raceway, Moama set to host Round 11 of the Series tomorrow night, a slender 213 points separates first from third in the points battle, with Rusty Hickman, who impressed many with his performance at the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, leading the way with 2899 points.

Sitting in second, just 176 points adrift of Hickman is perennial contender and the defending Eureka Sprintcar Series Champion Brett Milburn. Milburn will be looking to bank another strong haul of points tomorrow night to set up his Championship defense in the run home to the Grand Final on March 11 at Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.

A sixth-place finish last weekend and the accompanying 333 points that came with it, has Tasmanian Native Tim Hutchins well and truly in the Championship Hunt and one thing is for certain, the hard charging Hutchins will leave no stone unturned in his quest to fill the top spot in the points standings.

For the March 11 season defining, $5,000.00 to win Series Grand Final event, an influx of drivers and teams from right around the country can again be expected, with the likes of Jamie Veal, Jake Tranter and Shaun Dobson having already signalled their intention to upstage the Eureka Sprintcar Series regulars.

With a posse of drivers all contending for a coveted top-ten finish in the Eureka Sprintcar Series, thus making them eligible for the random draw for the magnificent KTM 350 EXC Motorbike. These drivers include Jake Smith, Charles Hunter, Brayden Parr, Grant Stansfield, Peter Doukas, Dennis Jones and Jordyn Charge, while knocking on the door of the top ten are Sam Wren, Corey McCullagh and Word Series Sprintcars regulars Jamie Veal, Glen Sutherland and Jye O’Keeffe.

The format for March 11 will see Qualifying Time-Trials, Two Rounds of Heats and a C. B and A-Main with as mentioned the winner walking away with $5,000.00 courtesy of Wheelie Waste.

The Geelong Harley Davidson Easter Sprintcar Trail also offers a mountain of Cash and Prizes over the three nights of competition, with the early entries of Grant Anderson, Jamie Veal, Shaun Dobson, Peter Doukas and Ben Gartner being amongst those that will compete for $5,000 to win on each of the three nights, with a $10,000 cash bonus going to any driver who can sweep all three nights!

This is in addition to the magnificent Geelong Harley Davidson Street 500, which will go the way of the overall Easter Sprintcar Trail Champion!

Add to that the $10,000 prize that is on offer courtesy of Parr Motorsports and the Premier Speedway Club for the 2017-18 Parr Motorsports Premier Speedway Sprintcar Track Champion and there is everything to play for over the next five or six weeks of competition.

Currently Jamie Veal holds a slender 2 point, or one racing position, lead over defending Track Champion Darren Mollenoyux, while just 118 points separates the top five of Veal, Mollenoyux, Peter Doukas, Glen Sutherland and Corey McCullagh.

There is certainly plenty to play for during the remaining events at Sungold Stadium.

Round 3 of the 2018 edition of the Geelong Harley Davidson Easter Sprintcar Trail on Sunday April 1, will be proudly supported by Cassign of Warrnambool.

Copies of the 2018 Easter Sprintcar Trail entry form have been forwarded to the 2017 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au

The final event of the year will see a great field of Super Sedans roll into Warrnambool on Saturday April 14, after they have contested their South Australian Title at Borderline Speedway, Mt. Gambier the night prior.

Joining the ground pounding Super Sedans will be the 360 Sprintcars, as they do battle in for the third and final round of the SRA of Victoria’s Triple Crown Series, while the Victorian Modified Production Association Series will wrap up as well for 2017-18 with the staging of the Di Watson Memorial as a part of their series finale.

So much going on, be sure to pencil in March 11, April 1 and April 14 as must see events at Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool for what promises to be a thrilling finale to the 2017-18 season.
