This Friday and Saturday night (February 2 & 3) over 40 of the best Late Model sedan drivers from across Australia will be joined by a pair of Americans and a young New Zealander as they contest the 2018 AUTOPRO Australian Late Model Title the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway.

The Championship will kick off on Friday night with three rounds of heat races before a further round of heat races on the Saturday night along with the qualification events (C & B Mains) prior to the 40 lap Australian Championship final. This will be the first time in the venues history that it is staged the Late Model Championship and the first time that the title has been held in South Australia since 2014.

The American contingent will see Indiana’s Joe Godsey, the Grandson of former Australian tourist and legendary driver Ray Godsey Snr, and Arkansas resident Randy Roth. They will be campaigning pair of Rocket XR1 chassis out of the Roth Motorsports stable. Both cars will carry the number 14 with Roth running #14R with Godsey in #14G.

The American drivers will be attempting to wrestle the Title from the current Australian Champion Callum Harper from Tasmania, who secured the coveted #1 at the Premier Speedway at Warrnambool last season.

In what is going to a superb two nights of racing the field is full of class including South Australia’s big hope Ryan Alexander in his #36 Club29 chassis, 5 times Champion Brad Blake (WA), current Australia 3 Paul Stubber (WA), three times South Australian Champion Ben Nicastri (NSW), Australia #2 David Doherty, Brad Smith (TAS), Cameron Pearson (Vic) and 2015 Australian Champion Darren Kane (QLD) in the #36 Ian Boettcher factory race car among the likely front runners.

The New Zealand representative will be Kristin Vermeulen, who will be making her second career start at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway.
