South Australian, Ryan Alexander, has won the prestigious K Rock Cup for Super Sedans, at Avalon Raceway on Saturday night, leading all the way in the 30 lap main event.

Alexander and former National Champion, Callum Harper would start on the front row, with Harper slipping back through the field after the first two laps, when sent rear of field for an early incident.

This elevated fellow Tasmanian Adam Beechey to second and Anthony Randall to third.

Alexander was forced to work hard as Beechey put in his best performance of the summer, chasing Alexander to the finish line all the way.

Peter Nicola had a good battle with Randall and eventually go the better of his with six laps remaining as the current Victorian Champion moved to third. In a bad finish for Randall, he was also passed by the consistent Ash Bergmeier on the final lap.

Alexander and Beechey finished well clear of the opposition, with Alexander winning by two car lengths, while Nicola was a third of a lap behind in third place.

With the field including many drivers who will be heading to the National Title, this was a good win for Alexander, his first of the season.

Earlier the heat races were hotly contested with Alexander, Harper and Andrew White from New South Wales, winning the opening round heats. Mick Nicola, Alexander and Anthony Randall would win the second round of heats, before Alexander won the Gold Dash, setting up his A Main result, going through the event, undefeated.
