• When Adam Currie decided to enlist the services of Kingsburg, California’s Cory Eliason for a limited race schedule during the 2016-17 Australian summer, the pair quickly gelled, walking away with results that would have far and away exceeded their expectations.

Those results included a win at Simpson Speedway’s All-Star Challenge, an event that saw Eliason and Currie walk away with the $10,000.00 first place purse, having triumphed over a stout field that included Eliason’s fellow Americans Terry McCarl and Greg Hodnett.

From there the team with the small race trailer, limited spares and an even smaller budget, rattled the cages of some of Australia’s very best on the way to a very impressive 12th place finish in the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic finale last January.

Upon returning to his native United States, Eliason would again show his talent with victory in the opening round of the ultra-tough King of the West Sprintcar Series in his native California, beating up on a classy field at Kern County Raceway Park, holding off a late charge from Carson Macedo along with young star Gio Scelzi, Kyle Hirst and Bud Kaeding.

Eliason would also close out the King of the West Series with a win at the season ending event at the Stockton Dirt Track, leading home Tim Kaeding and Hirst.

During 2017 Eliason made only his second ever trek to Knoxville for the running of the Knoxville Nationals.

While by no means dominating his qualifying night as he and his team fought their way through what was an emotional week for Eliason and all concerned, it was during the Friday night Hard Knocks program that the talented Eliason really shone.

A fourth-place finish in the A-Main granted Eliason a coveted 20th starting spot in the Saturday night Knoxville Nationals finale, a race that would eventually see Eliason scored 17th in what was an impressive display.

Eliason also contested the Speed Sport World Challenge event on the Friday night courtesy of contesting the 2017 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

Teaming up with Currie and his partner Liz Weaver for the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, Eliason will be even more competitive and better prepared the second time around.

The team will enjoy the support of Devil Race Karts, Maxwill Race Engines, Awesome landscapes, Premier Plumbing and Total Tools Lonsdale aboard the USA00 GF1.

The 2018 46th edition of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.

Copies of the 2018 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2017 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
